ALEX HENRY FOSTER

ALEX HENRY FOSTER is a musician, producer and composer who creates intense and brutal post-rock soundtracks on stage with his band 'The Long Shadows'. Together with bandmate Jeff Beaulieu, Alex purchased a former church in Drummondville, Canada, and set up the Hopeful Tragedy Records label and Upper Room Studio, where the music of the debut album was recorded and mixed. The band themselves pressed the vinyl, designed and produced the merchandise, and packed and shipped the orders. The passion and hard work bore fruit: debut album 'Windows In The Sky' hit number one on the Canadian album charts in 2020 and stayed at the top for weeks. In 2020, ALEX HENRY FOSTER and The Long Shadows went on tour with And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, before a pandemic broke out in Europe. At the 2019 FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE JAZZ DE MONTRÉAL, Alex performed in front of a sold-out audience and a live album will be released in 2021, ranking high on the international charts, including #1 in Canada, #6 in Australia and #32 in the UK. In autumn 2021, when culture has become accessible again, ALEX HENRY FOSTER and The Long Shadows will accompany The Pineapple Thief on their European tour. The long-awaited European tour of the band, whose performances are characterised by the masterful playing of six musicians on stage, creating an impressive layer of sound. Their music is literally addictive and moving to anyone who has witnessed their concerts. ALEX HENRY FOSTER loves his fans, and his fans reciprocate this feeling - his concerts are full of energy and emotion, representing a true experience of faith. His performances can convince even the biggest sceptics of the power of love, music and unity, because love has the power to change things....

line-up

AGUSA

The band was formed early in 2013, when Tobias Pettersson and Mikael Ödesjö, former members of Kama Loka, recruited Dag Strömqvist and Jonas Berge for their early 70's progressive rock project. In the summer we went out to the countryside where Dag lived, a place called Agusa (really only a loose gathering of houses in the forest). We had an inspired long jam session there, and it was a perfect warm and sunny summer day, so of course we had to call the band Agusa! In the autumn we went into the studio to record our first record, Högtid, that was released on vinyl and digital media early in 2014. After a handful of gigs during the winter, Dag decided to leave us to travel around India for a while. We auditioned a number of drummers, and eventually asked Tim Wallander from Magic Jove to join us. In the beginning of 2014, we went into Studio Möllan again to record our second album, planned for release late spring/early summer 2014. We asked a friend of ours, Jenny Puertas, to record some flute, and we liked it so much that we asked her to become a part of the band! We had our first gig with Jenny in March 14th, and we think it was a really good gig! In 2017 Agusa had a lot of auditions for a new organ player, to replace Jonas, who left the band. Jeppe Juul then joined the band. Tobias left the band 2018 and was replaced by Simon Ström. Roman Andren replaced Jeppe 2019.

line-up

LIZARD

The band was formed in 1990 in Bielsko-Biała on the initiative of vocalist Damian Bydliński and guitarist Mirosław Sorek. The line-up was completed by: keyboardist Andrzej Jancza, bassist Janusz Tanistra and drummer Mariusz Szulakowski. From the very beginning, the music was inspired mainly by the achievements of such bands as Emerson, Lake & Palmer, UK and King Crimson (the band's name directly refers to the title of KC's third album). The first six years of the band's activity consisted of recording demo tapes and numerous concerts. In 1996, a breakthrough in the band's career occurred - the band signed a contract with Ars Mundi publishing house, which released the Bielsko quintet's debut album "W galerii czasu" / "In the gallery of time". Lizard appeared at many prestigious events and concerts, including in Lyon (1992), in Katowice (Academy of Music, 1993), a year later at Intermedia Promotion in Wrocław, in Bielsko-Biała (Teatr Polski, 1995 and 97) and at the first Progressive Rock Festival in Warsaw (1996). In 1997, the band was invited to the well-known music programme "100% Live" broadcast by TV Katowice. The biggest success, however, was their performance in front of the legendary band Emerson, Lake & Palmer in June 1997 (Spodek, Katowice). In October of the same year, the band supported a Porcupine Tree concert at the Cracow Philharmonic Hall, and a year later they went on tour to the Netherlands. In November 1999, with the support of fans, the band released a new album, the live album "Noc żywych liz lizczurów". In addition to excerpts from the first album, the band presented their versions of 4 songs from the King Crimson and UK repertoire. In 2001, Mirosław Worek and Mariusz Szulakowski left the band. Maciej Caputa became the band's new drummer, but left after less than a year and his place was taken by Wojciech Steblik for a few months. Both drummers took part in preliminary preparations for the next studio album. The year 2003 brought a contract with Metal Mind Productions and the release of two albums in remastered versions with attractive extras in the form of previously unreleased live versions of several compositions and premiere compositions. At the end of that year, Mariusz Szulakowski returned to the band. At the beginning of 2004, the second studio album was released: 'Psychopuls'. During the production of this album, another personnel change took place in the band: Andrzej Jancza was replaced by Krzysztof Maciejowski, who brought a new instrument into the band's sound - the violin. At the turn of March/April 2005, the third studio production, "Tales From The Artichoke Wood", saw the light of day. On 28 March 2006, the band's fourth studio album was released: "Spam". From the beginning of 2008, work began on the new album 'Master & M'. In December 2011. Mariusz Szulakowski was replaced by Alek Szałajko, who played on the latest album 'Master & M'. In June 2012, Daniel Kurtyka joined the band, completing the ensemble with a second guitar. At the end of 2012, after nine years of cooperation, Krzysztof Maciejowski left the band. He was replaced in December by pianist Paweł Fabrowicz. On 4 June 2013, the band's fifth studio album was released: "Master & M". In October 2013, Mariusz Szulakowski rejoined the band.

FREN

The international Polish-Ukrainian band FREN, erupts onto the scene as a creator of instrumental music with a strong emotional charge. Their compositions contain expansive soundscapes balancing between a hazy trance and a more dynamic form of expression.

The band was founded in 2017 in Krakow by pianist Oskar Cenkier, guitarist Michał Chalota, bassist Andrew Shamanov and drummer Oleksij Fedoriv. The musicians played many warmly received concerts and shared the stage with Caravan (UK), Stoned Jesus (UA), The Sonic Dawn (DK), Virgil Donati's Icefish (IT), and Steve Rothery (UK) and others. Their style has been described as a symbiosis of vintage sounds with modern means of artistic expression and compared to bands such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Änglagård or Caravan. Fren's critically acclaimed debut album, Where Do You Want Ghosts to Reside, was released in 2020.

Building on their success, the band followed up with their eagerly anticipated second album, "All the Pretty Days" in 2022. This release shows the evolution of the band, while cementing their status as dynamic creators in their field and beyond.
