Summer Fog Festival 2019
At the end of July, Warsaw's Torwar will host outstanding musicians who have been playing for us for over five decades. The main star of the festival will be the band Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, the formation of the legendary drummer Pink Floyd, which thus goes back to the roots, i.e. the recordings that started the performances under the famous name. The artist intends to play material from the seven albums that preceded the most famous one „The Dark Side of the Moon”. It is worth noting that these compositions, for the most part, have not been performed in concerts for many years Pink Floyd, as well as solo performances of individual musicians of this group. The drummer also announces some surprises in his repertoire.
The next artists who will perform at the festival will be The David Cross Band feat. David Jackson and Soft Machine. The first team is led by a violinist David Cross, who gained the greatest recognition being part of, in the opinion of many listeners around the world, the best incarnation King Crimson, where next to Cross and of course Robert Fripp found, among others Bill Bruford and John Wetton. The last album featuring all these names called „Red”crowned the first, creative era of history entitled King Crimson. He will accompany the artist David Jackson, the saxophonist most associated with the band Van Der Graaf Generatorwith which he recorded all known albums such as „Pawn Hearts” or „H to He, I’m the Ony One”. Soft Machine in turn, it is one of the most prominent representatives of the broadly understood so-called Canterbury scenes. At the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, the band played joint concerts with Pink Floyd. Warsaw will be a stop on the concert tour on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his musical activity. For these five decades Soft Machine consistently implements its musical idea, offering listeners instrumental, jazz-rock and avant-garde music.
The Summer Fog Festival will also feature Polish music. The groups will take care of it Believeand Amarok. The first is the guitarist's band that continues the traditions of progressive rock Mirosław Gila known, among others from Collage celebrating 15 years of music activity this year. It is worth mentioning that in 2007 the artists recorded for one of the most famous Polish computer games „Wiedźmin"song entitled „The Wicher”. Amarok is a musical project on the borderline of artrock, folk and ambient, celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year, led by a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Michał Wojtasa. Na płytach Amarok guest musicians, including Colin Bass (Camel) or Mariusz Duda (Riverside).
It is also worth mentioning that we have already confirmed information from most of the artists that they will be available for you during the festival and will sign autographs.
